Help TJLP continue critical name and gender marker change services across Illinois!
Since 2011, TJLP has provided gender-affirming name and gender marker change services to trans and gender-expansive people across Illinois. As of 2026, we have assisted more than 5,000 Illinois residents and expanded our reach statewide, offering both virtual and in-person services so that more people can access the support they need—wherever they are in Illinois.
Beyond direct services, we engage in policy advocacy to improve Illinois’ name change and gender marker laws and help ensure that our state is accessible and affirming for trans and gender-expansive people and communities.
Your support helps us continue this critical work at a time when our communities are facing unprecedented attacks on self-determination and the ability to live authentically.
Here’s what your donation can make possible:
$15–$75 — Helps TJLP cover the cost of identity documents for one person, such as a birth certificate or state ID.
$70 — Supports the labor cost of one person’s name change.
$140 — Supports the labor cost of one person’s name change and another individual or family.
$280 — Supports the labor cost of one person’s name change and two additional individuals or families.
$306–$388 — Supports the filing fee for a name change or an out-of-state gender marker change court order.
Other — No amount is too small or too large. Every contribution helps sustain this work. 💛
Help TJLP make name and gender marker changes more accessible to people across Illinois. Donate today and help us continue building a state where trans and gender-expansive people can live with dignity, autonomy, and authenticity.
